SELFIE MAGIC!

Throughout this WebQuest we examined the difference between a selfie in the contemporary sense and a self-portrait in the context of art history. Ultimately, the process is revealed in the product. With that in mind, you will self-evaluate your final selfie with one last task. Do an image web search for “selfie”. Then, do an image web search for “self-portrait” and the medium you used. For example, if you made a photograph, search “self-portrait photography” and so on. What are the differences between the images in this simple search? Under what category do you think your final piece falls? Did you make a picture of yourself that screams, “look at me!” or did you make something that reveals something about who you really are? Is it art or is it vanity? Write a short essay defending your decision.
