English 4 ~ Poetry Writing Portfolio

Portfolios will include the following headings: Poetry, Analysis, Organization and Student Choice. The Poetry section will include revised student work, arranged in the order of the student's choice. Analysis will include revised student analysis. Revision will include examples of revision of both creative and analytical work as well as a 1 to 2 page discussion of revision and the writing process. Organization will include an outline or other graphic organizer along with a 1 page explanation of how the Poetry and Analysis sections are organized and for what reason. Student choice will contain any additional work or commentary that the student chooses to include.

All drafts will be electronic.

The portfolio must be in hard copy.

Revision of Poetry and Analytical Papers Revision demonstrates a thoughtful re-"visioning" of the work, incorporating feedback from a variety of sources. Portfolio The portfolio is assembled carefully and thoughtfully. The poetry section is arranged with an eye to student creative work "speaking" to each other. The Student Choice section contains some creative and interesting entries. The portfolio is assembled with some care.
