Our Government

Now that you have explored all about "Our Government" it is time to take what you have learned and create a short essay about what you learned each day. This essay needs to cover each day and what you learned. You will also be presenting the powerpoint your team was assigned. Please refer to the evauation for how you will be graded on the content of your essay and powerpoint.

You have had a great quest learning more about the government. You have learned so much in just a week.

 Day 1 you traveled the world with famous explorers. These explorers helped to colonize America.

 Day 2 you discovered that the colonists wanted freedom from distant countries and that they were not happy with the way they were ruled. As a result they declared their independence and framed the Constitution which led to the colonist making their own rules and form of government.

Day 3 you explored the structure of the government. You learned more about the branches of the governement and the separation of powers. You also learned that there are 3 different types of government, national, state, and local.

Day 4 we learned how long ago these events happened. We also discovered where our national and state capitals are.

Day 5 You learned that the government taxes people so that they can supply goods and services we need. You also learned how to make your own budget.

Great job everyone on your 5 day adventerous quest to learn more about the government.
