Civil War Reconstruction: A Webquest

Focus:

 This webquest is focused on the period after the Civil War known as Reconstruction.  It should enable the students to go beyond the simple facts and begin to identify with the issues and impacts of this era.

 

Objectives:

The students will understand the basic concepts and policies of Reconstruction.

The students will identify the social and political effects of Reconstruction.

The students will understand the far-reaching effects of certain impacts of Reconstruction.

The students will learn about 3 important amendments.

The students will improve their ability to pull the pertinent information from a selection of text.

The students will increase their understanding of the Civil Rights Movement.

 

Planning Information:

This webquest is designed for an 8th grade U.S. History class.  It is planned to take approximately one week, including time for group sharing and class discussion.  Students must possess the ability to comfortably navigate through the internet and successfully use a computer.
