1. Divide students into groups of 2-3 based on student comfort level with navigating through information in the target language. One or two computers may be shared by the group. If need be, specific questions may be assigned to each group member for accountability. The difficulty and length of each set of questions varies so that various group needs can be met.

2. Have students brainstorm (or visit a local McDonald's/Pizza Hut if necessary) to compile a list of menu items offered. As a group, students will answer the following questions: For what food is this restaurant known? Why is fast food popular? What are several similarities between various fast food chains in your town?

3. Direct groups to the websites http://www.foodbycountry.com/Spain-to-Zimbabwe-Cumulative-Index/Spain.html, http://www.spain-info.com/madrid/Madrid-Restaurants.html, and http://www.foodanddrinkeurope.com/news/ng.asp?id=52366-fast-growth-for to answer the following questions: What are the main dishes in a typical Spanish diet? What are the restaurants like? Are there many fast food chains in Spain as well? Are they the same as the ones in the U.S.?

4. Instruct groups 1-6 to go to www.mcdonalds.es and groups 7-9 to www.pizzahut.es in order to answer their group's respective questions.
