1. -Evacuation of children during WWII
Click on the link (Resource 1 below) to get to the written report by the BBC on the British evacuees.
In your notes for item A, write down one example of a child's positive experience of being evacuated and then write what happened to one of the children who had a bad experience.
Then click on the YouTube movie about the evacuations. (Resource 2 below)

2-Tour an English Country Home � The Pevensie kids in the novel were sent to an English Country Home. Think about what it must have been like for city kids used to living in an urban townhouse.
The novel says that it took the children ten minutes to walk from their bedroom to a part of the house where they might run into an adult.

Imagine what it would be like to be sent to live in one for a while. After looking through the examples of Knebworthhouse, Wollaton Hall, Woburn Abbey, Kiddington Manor, Hinwick House and the slideshow on several British country houses, write a paragraph about what you think it might be like to live in a house like that. Compare it to the house you live in now. Your paragraph will be item J in your notes, but will be worth three points instead of 1.
