Creating an advertising brochure

While working individually you will look at some travel brochures that will be provided for you in class. This task is progressive and several lessons are required.  The websites for your research have been provided as a link at the bottom of this page. You will be allowed to access google for any images required. You are to choose an Australian National Park that appeals to you. If time permits you will design a postcard for visitors to purchase whilst they are visiting the park.

1. Look at the criteria sheet before commencing the task and ask the teacher to clarify anything.

2. You are to highlight KEY points from the research and the information you MUST include are: Information about the type of park, its location, facilities, special flora and fauna and accessibility. You must also demonstrate your ability to use various fonts/ sizes and insert images.

3. You will write down your ideas on your jotters and  then use A3 paper begin to design your brochure with relevant pictures. You will need to show your draft to the teacher prior to commencing your publishing. Please pay particular attention to spelling and think about what you want to achieve!The final brochure will be in A4 size. Please use your student ID to login the schools network and save your work under your grades folder eg: C:/Documents/grade34/brochure task.doc

4. When designing and producing the postcard/ brochure you are required to consider its colour, neatness, appropriateness and size of images. Microsoft publisher will be used to create the brochure and postcard. If you need to insert digital images then they are to be selected from the school�s network or downloaded as copyright free images from the Internet (google images is sufficient).

5. Once you feel that you have finished, show your classroom teacher prior to PRINTING.

 The brochures can be printed in colour as the final product will be assessed and added to your portfolio.

6. At the duration of the task the whole class will participate in a reflection activity.
