Super Tracker � My Plate Web Quest Internet Assignment

Listed below are the names and information of "characters" that will be used for this assignment. They have been written down on slips of paper, some of the names and information may be duplicated. With a partner, one member will draw from the box to select their character to use for today's activity.

Joe: 16, Male, 160 lbs, 5�8, Physical Activity: Less than 30 minutes/day

Cindy:30, Female, 125, 5�5, Physical Activity: Less than 30 minutes/day

Bob: 14, Male, 185, 5�10, Physical Activity: More than 60 minutes/day

Kathy: 13, Female, 135, 5�7, Physical Activity: Between 30-60 minutes/day

Jack: 55, Male, 165, 5�10, Physical Activity: Less than 30/minutes per day

Joey: 22, Male, 200, 6�2, Physical Activity: Between 30-60 minutes/day

Sally: 10, Female, 100, 5�2, Physical Activity: More than 60 minutes/day

Kelly: 45, Female, 165, 5�8, Physical Activity: Less than 30 minutes/day

AFTER SELECTING A CHARACTER...LET'S BEGIN! 

2. At the top (on the blue toolbar), click on �Super Tracker & Other Tools�, and then click on �Super Tracker�.
3. Once the page loads, click on the blue box called �Super Tracker�.
4. Once this page loads, click on �Create Your Profile� (located on the right side of the page)
5. Enter the name, age, sex, weight, height, and physical activity level. (according to the person your group chose at random from above)
6. Click SUBMIT on the bottom of the page.

Congrats � you have arrived at the �My Coach Center� � click on the �Food Tracker�. Copy and paste the information/questions below into a WORD document and type in the answers with your partner.

Find the box in the left corner that says �Food Details�...then fill in the following:
*Select the number 1, then select cup, goldfish
*For the meal time, select snacks and click �Add�.

In the search box, type in �Running, 8.6 mph� and click go, then under search results, select:
�Running, general�
Find the box in the left corner that says �Activity Details��then fill in the following:
*Type in the duration of �20� minutes
*Select �Monday� and click �Add�.

Find the box in the left corner that says �Activity Details��then fill in the following:

* Select Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and click �Add�

How many minutes did they actually perform physical activity? 
How many minutes do they need to work out to gain health benefits and maintain weight?
How many minutes do they need to work out to lose or gain weight? 
Do you think your person will gain, maintain, or lose weight based on this activity? Why?

Also, vote for your least favorite website from the list of options. Lastly, you research food intake/physical activity application or online tool of your choice and present a brief description and features (2-3 sentences)  of the application or online tool, one thing that you liked about the website, and one thing that you disliked about the website. You will present this information to your cooperative learning groups tomorrow in class.
