REMEMBERING: Make a video, photostory, poster or webpage to give a simple explanation of a fraction, and an explanation of all the types of fractions with examples.
UNDERSTANDING: Give 5 different examples of how we use fractions in the real world.
APPLYING: Take three different fractions that are at their Lowest Terms. For each, show three equivalent fractions and draw a diagram of each.
ANALYSING: Create three shapes (regular and irregular). Share 2/5 of each shape. Explain how you worked out what this was of each shape.
EVALUATING: Adelaide Oval needs to be over-sown with new grass, The cost is $3 per square metre. The Government wants only 1/6 to be done at a time. How much area will they cover each time, and how much will each section cost? HINT: A diagram may help.
CREATING: You have your own Island. Name it. You need to design and create a flag for this island. The requirements are: needs to be ½ Red, ¼ Blue, 1/8 Yellow, 3/32 Green and 1/32 White. Then design the land to have 1/3 Grass, 2/12 Sand, 4/24 Gravel and 24/72 to be a theme park with a concrete floor.
