Wyoming 

In order to help you understand the characters of the story you may want to know more about where the story takes place.  In your group think about all the things you may know about Wyoming.  Make a chart with your group and list the thing you think you know.  Then make another list of things you would like to know about Wyoming.  Write a brief paragraph about Wyoming.  Here are some resources that may help:

Dogsledding 

You are interested in joining a dogsled race and need some information to get started.  You will need to know what type of dogs you will need, what type of sled and where the races will be held.  In your group, write a complete list of items you will need and places where you will race.  Here are some resources:

Newspaper Article 

The town of Jackson, Wyoming needs an article for their paper telling about the Natioanl Dogsled Race.  Include things such as the entrants, the events, and the winner.  Remember to use the five w's when writing the newspaper article: who, what, where, when, why.  This can be done as a group effort, where each member can focus on an area of the five w's.  Also, create an illusstration that can be included with the article.

T-Shirt

The National Dogsled Race would like to give each person who enters the race a t-shirt.  You need to design a t-shirt that may be given to each entrant.
