Natural Science/Drama Project � ENERGY

For this Unit of enquiry the students will be preparing a Natural Science/Drama Project concerned with Energy.

Students will work in groups to investigate and create a rap on the subject they have been allocated. This will involve organization, group work, investigation and presentation. Finally the groups will present their work to the remainder of the sixth form.

Assessment

The work produced will be evaluated according to the rubrick in the following way:

Elementary (1-4)

Developing (5-6)

 Very good (7-8)

Exemplary (9-10)

Social Science/Art Business Project

For this Unit of Enquiry students will create a business plan for their chosen type of business, accompanied by a publicity campaign with which they will present their sales pitch in front of the class with the objective of acquiring an investment from them.

The following aspects should be taken into account:

  •          What services or goods they will offer.
  •          What position each group member will have within their company.
  •          Where they will run their business from.
  •          How much money they will require from the investors to set their company up.
  •          How much money they will charge for their product or service.

The publicity campaign may be represented in any chosen media(film,�animation,�.digital imagery, �.etc.) and used as a tool to convince the investors to invest in their companies forming part of their sales pitch. It should be:

  •          Informative
  •          Fun
  •          Visually attractive
  •          Original
  •          You may want to consider including a logo, a slogan, a jingle or music, etc.  to your publicity campaign.

Assessment

The marking criteria for this project will include an assessment of all the above points, in addition to those corresponding to your individual and group work (collaboration, cooperation, attitude, responsibility, presentation, respect, etc.)
