Food for Thought:
- Why are the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Iran Hostage Crisis all considered Cold War events? Be sure to address all three in your answer.
- How were the Korean War and the Vietnam War similar and different from the perspective of the United States? From the perspective of the Soviet Union and other communist governments?
- Was Vietnam a conflict prompted by containing communism (as the U.S. maintained) or was it a conflict supporting an ally in their efforts at colonialism (as the North Koreans maintained)?
