Brett Katz Current Phyical Education Teacher/Coach; Master of Science in Sport Management

Brett Katz is currently finishing up the requirement for his Master of Science Degree in the field of Sport Management.  Brett has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2006 and is certified to teach Physical Education and Health from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Brett is currently employed at Parkway North High School in the Parkway School District. 

Brett obtained his Bachelor's degree in 2006 and took his first teaching job at Incarnate Word Academy in North St. Louis County.  His first and only year at Incarnate saw him teach three classes including, Strength and Conditioning, Health, and Physical Fitness for 9th graders.  Brett also coached softball and basketball at Incarnate Word and was part of team that year that finished 2nd in the state in Missouri girls class 5A Basketball.

Brett Katz played collegiate baseball at the University of Missouri-St. Louis where he was an All GLVC performer.  After his playing career, he immediately started coaching at Parkway North High in 2004 where he coached football, girl's basketball, and baseball while finishing up his teaching certificate.  The administration at Parkway North thought high enough of Brett to hire him as their Head Girls Basketball Coach in 2005-2006, taking over a team that 1-24 the season before.  Brett guided the North Lady Viking to 11 wins the next season and the season after 15 wins and was named "Suburban South Coach of the Year".  Brett got into the profession to teach, so he took a job at Incarnate Word Academy and gave up the head coaching job and began teaching and coaching at Incarnate Word Academy. 

One year later Parkway North had a Physical Education opening and Brett was hired to teach PE and Health and coach football, Girls Basketball, and Baseball.  Brett will now begin his 5th year teaching overall and his 4th at North high, still coaching 2 sports.  Brett currently teaching Strength and Conditioning, Walking for Fitness, Health, and Competitive Sports and Games. 

Brett has aspirations of one day becoming an Athletic Director and is thankful that he found the Missouri Baptist Sport Management program to be very useful in his future goal.  Brett has been very successful in his classes at Missouri Baptist reassuring that this was in his best interest.
