Life of an IP Packet
Welcome
Welcome: Life of an IP Packet
Description:
Imagine an interaction which many of us now take for granted - sending and receiving data of some sort across the Internet and/or World Wide Web. A process that has been refined over the past four decades or so to create a highly-available, low-cost, real-time and global means of communication is, in reality, a complex interaction between user, application, routing and presentation. Using the principles of the OSI Model, encapsulation, and packet routing, we will explore the "life of an IP packet" as it makes its way from sender to receiver.
