Description: The United Farm Workers is a workers union formed by civil rights leader Cesar Chavez and others beginning in 1962. To ensure equal rights for farm workers, Chavez and his partners lobbied to gain equal pay, suitable working conditions, and to be provided workers benefits for farm labor. This WebQuest will delve into the history of the Farm Workers Movement from the years of 1962 to 1975 to understand the struggles of the farm worker, analyze and describe the life of the farm worker, learn about Cesar Chavez as a civil rights leader, and gain perspective on the importance of the farm workers movement in accordance to other civil rights movements of the 1960's.
