Welcome: Politics and Reform 1877-1896
Description: Industrialization, Urbanization, and Immigration are very important facets to American History from 1877-1896. The countries move to the cities and the corruption present there is a picture of the way the Federal Government was operating at the same time. The attempt to clean up politics led to a struggle between the Democrats and Republicans. Later, farmers attempted to come together to speak out against governmental concern with the cities. At the same time, race relations were still very much on the minds of Americans as segregation reared its ugly head.
