Welcome: We, the People, Know Our Rights
Description: In this task, students will take on the challenge of understanding the Bill of Rights (how they came about), tying the Bill of Rights to current times, and creating a Bill of Rights document for students at their school (including getting signatures from other students and presenting it to Administration). CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.11-12.9 Analyze seventeenth-, eighteenth-, and nineteenth-century foundational U.S. documents of historical and literary significance (including The Declaration of Independence, the Preamble to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address) for their themes, purposes, and rhetorical features.
