Poetic Social Justice

Welcome: Poetic Social Justice
Description: The purpose of this WebQuest is to direct students through one of a series of social justice issues and that have plagued and continue to plague the U.S. and/or the world, and find the connections between poetry and an issue. Students are to choose one of several issues they want to research before breaking into pair/share groups. Each group will then go through one of the issues in this WebQuest, continue to research using the databases in the library, create a presentation on the issue, find a poem to that is a "compelling voice" with regards to their issue, and then present their findings and the poem to the class. One presentation will be chosen by students (and the teacher) to be presented during Pride Night to the larger learning community.
