Welcome: Conflict/Change
Description: Students will learn about abolitionists and the Underground Railroad, Sectionalism and States' Rights, Westward Expansion, the Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the Dred Scott Decision. They will learn how each of these factors contributed to the Civil War in America. Students will work with their group to choose a role from the period leading up to the Civil War and write about each factor from that person's perspective.
