Description: The Mayans were an indigenous group of people who occupied the terrane of Mexico and central America.They also inhabited the lands comprising modern-day Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco, and Chiapas in Mexico and southward through Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador and Honduras. Religion played a very great part in the life of the Maya people and thus this lesson is based upon the social life of the Mayans more specifically their religious beliefs and practices.
