Welcome: Civil War
Description: The history of the United States has helped shape our world as we know it. It is important for fourth students to begin to learn how history is connected with the interactions of people and events across time. With this comes a variety of perspectives. Placing emphasis on these perspectives will connect to students lives because they have understandings and views passed down from generation to generation about how and why our county was formed. Recognizing this helps students to distinguish between near and distinct events relevant to our society and our current daily lives. Exposing fourth graders to the historic events of the Civil War will help these students become well rounded citizens with a respect for others and their differences.
