Wind and Weather

The intention of this webquest is to help students who are new to learning about wind and weather patterns.  In my case, this happens to be in an Earth Science course with 10th graders.  Up until this point, my students have learned how air movement is caused by pressure differences, but they have not had any information about how this relates to wind.  They do, as a requisite for part 3, know how to read an isobar map. 

 

The intentions of this WebQuest are to help students gain an understanding of high and low pressure centers.  I also felt that in order to fully understand how weather is affected, students needed to understand the Coriolis Effect.
