How To Be Bully Free

Focus:
This WebQuest focuses on bullying. A lot of schools today are facing problems with this issue.  The objective of this webquest is to help students learn more about bullying, what to do when being bullied, who to go to for help, and what to do to stop it.
Objectives/Goals:
I would recommend starting this project after you have talked with your students about bullying or after you have actually had some issues with this problem. This way, the students will have some background knowledge and they should be able to take this project further than without any previous knowledge.
·         Students will learn about the affects of bullying.
·         Students will discover what it is like to be bullied and what a bully is by researching online.
·         Students will come to understand that bullying is a serious issue and it needs to stop.
·         Students will have a general understanding of what bullying is and how to get help, if you are being bullied or if you are one.
Resources:
Prerequisite Skills: Comfort level with the Internet
Time Required: 5 days 45 minutes or so a day. Time depends on your student’s level of comfort on the computer. One day should be left for presentations.
Technology Needs/Materials Needed:
Since students will be working in groups, it is not necessary for each student to have a computer, but each group must have one accessible for them to do the webquest and research needed for the presentation. Students should take turns on the computer. (20 minutes at a time on the computer)
