This webquest is about the sugar manufacturing process and the different methods of separation used in the production of sugar.

It should take about 120 minutes for students to complete this webquest. Teachers who wish to use this webquest should ensure that

students work collaboratively and have access to the internet during class.

Standards

This webquest is for students studying Chemistry in grades 10 and 11.

National standards:

 2.6 students should be able to describe extraction of sucrose from sugar cane;

2.5 students should be able to draw a flow chart showing the steps involved in the separation of sucrose from sugar cane.
