Your Family and Mine

Teacher Page

Focus:

This webquest focuses on family roles and how they compare and contrast to our life as Americans. The objective of this lesson is to give students a better understanding of the world around them and the people that live all around them.

Objectives/Goals:

I would recommend starting the lesson as either the first lesson when discussing families or possibly the second lesson like I am doing. My first lesson is on the daily life of a student in China. The previous lesson asked the students to compare and contrast their daily life to that of the student in China which would help them to better compare and contrast for this lesson.

Resources:

Prerequisite Skills: Comfort level with the Internet
Time Required: 1 day, 30-45 minutes for this lesson
Technology Needs/Materials Needed: each group should have access to a computer and have a copy of the chart provided and have access to the article by Victoria Jackson.

Credits:

All of the links are amazing and provide a great source of information and are appropriate for children, for that I say "Thank you." Also, the pictures were taken from google images and they are perfect for this webquest since they provided me with multiple family images. The article by Victoria Jackson is great for children also, so thank you for that.
