Sequencing is always a fun topic to teach! However, students often times, forget how to properly sequence events with sequence words. In this web quest, as a teacher you can make learning sequencing words into a scavenger hunt across the internet, and make it fun. In this lesson, you help meet the standards of not just one common core but three.

Standards

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.1
Write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or name the book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.2
Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.3
Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.

Other

As a teacher,we oftentimes have a hard time finding good books to go with our lesson, or even worksheets. The link below has a bunch of resources for sequencing activities and books you could use.

Another good resources is Youtube. I know its hard for some teacher to access it at school but get permission! It has so many different videos that help with sequencing and they're entertaining for the students.
