WebQuest
Who will write the book about the history of education?
FYI
In this Webquest, a college student in the year 2050 is asked to find information on the history of education in order to make a book to be archived in the world's library. No books have been used since the year 2030 and the world's online library has been compromised. The future of education is as stake. Without the student's help, future generations will never know the events, beliefs, people, or theories that impacted education in the past. However, if the student succeeds, then all is not lost and the history of education will be saved for future generations.

Q & A
Q: How do the events, beliefs, theories, and people affect the role of the contemporary early childhood educator?
A: Today's early childhood educators are influenced by the theories, events, beliefs, and people in education's history in some way or another. To say just one influences the most, would be an understatement to say the least. If you think about it, why did those people want to study education in the first place? Humans are learners by instinct. It's a process that will be forever practiced. But if I had to pick just one influence, I would pick the events in early childhood education. Each event is a stepping stone to what educators know about children and the way they develop, behave, and how their environment factors into the development of their character. Without the first event started by Martin Luther, then education would not even exist the way it does today. Over time, more and more people added to it. Like a snowball effect. As the ball rolls down the hill, it picks up more and more snow making the snowball bigger and bigger. It's the same for education over time. It began with a simple act of starting a school for poor children to children all over the world attending school.
