Focus:
This WebQuest’s objective is to help students learn about Bullhead City and how the five themes of geography can be applied to learning more about it. This WebQuest uses a search and find style through the use of pre-made questions made by me and the internet. If you are a teacher from the Bullhead City area you can assign local resources for the students to gather information from. Objectives/Goals:
I would recommend starting this project after you have introduced five themes of geography (Location, Place, Human-Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region). This way, the students will have some background knowledge and they should be able to take on this project with minimal guidance. They will also have a better vocabulary when writing their presentation, poster, and visual representation. It should be an approximately three or four day team event.
My idea was that the students would break into teams based on the themes, research, and learn all that they could. Then they will come back and teach it to the rest of the class. This way no one will miss a section and they are reinforcing what they learned.
•Students will learn about the five themes of geography (Location, Place,
Human-Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region).
• Students will make a hands-on model/ visual representation of what the theme
is.
• Students will come to understand that you can learn a lot about the area you
live in.
• Students will have "fun" with Social Studies and their home town.

Prerequisite Skills: Comfort level with the Internet
Time Required: 3+1 day- 3 days for lessons and preparation (45 minutes each) and 1 day for presentation day.
Technology Needs/Materials Needed
Since students will be working in groups, it is not necessary for each student to have a computer, but each group must have one accessible well as the WebQuest "Exploring Bullhead City, Arizona using the 5 themes of geography.” Credits:
