Teacher Page

This Web Quest was designed to use with a Child Development Associate certification class.  The reading level is listed as grades 9-12 because participants often have a high school education, however, it could also be used in an adult-ed or a high school career exploration class.

The four phases in the process section allow for collaborative group work as well as individual work.  Higher-order thinking skills are required in creating the presentation.  For example, information must be synthesized and then demonstrated through active engagement.  Also, students will analyze one another's performances using a rubric.  The presentation choices allow for the individual to demonstrate his or her knowledge through a method that is most comfortable and appropriate to the individual's learning style.

Standards

CDA Objectives: Course 1: Maintaining a Commitment to Professionalism, Session D - At the end of this session, participants will be able to discuss early childhood developmental theories.
