Discovering the Milky Way

This website is designed to be a week long Earth Science project that takes 45 minutes out of a 90 minute class each day M-TH, culminating in a 90 minute presentation day on Friday.  The library with computers is checked out Monday and Tuesday for initial research lesson and help from teacher, librarian, and teachers aides. Wednesday and Thursday will be computer days in the class the last 45 minutes.

Standards

ES.3 The student will investigate and understand the characteristics of Earth and the solar system. Key concepts include d) the history and contributions of space exploration
ES.13 The student will investigate and understand scientific concepts related to the origin and evolution of the universe. Key concepts include a) cosmology including the Big Bang theory; and b) the origin and evolution of stars, star systems, and galaxies.
