Civic Participation

This WebQuest aims at getting students thinking about the importance of civic engagement and what that might mean in practice. That means getting students to think about ways in which they might someday participate in the political process, in their communities, in changing the world. 

Standards

SS.7.C.2: Evaluate the roles, rights, and responsibilities of United States citizens, and determine methods of active participation in society, government, and the political system.

Other

A lesson such as this, requiring a creative project component where students produce something on their own in order to demonstrate understanding, might require more than one class period. Be prepared to give students time to work with their groups in order to produce something meaningful.
