This lesson is generated to assist students with increasing their ability to develop into effective writers, able to begin to create and transfer their thoughts into well-written text of many genres.  The basis for developing the ability to become effective writers, of course requires lots of practice, but also having a good knowledge of the seven parts of speech.  This lesson will be the first unit of many; reviewing the parts of speech, and will begin with the review and practice of nouns.

This lesson will be presented in a flipped format, where students will be required to watch videos to introduce the lesson away from the classroom if they have access to the internet.  If students do not have access to the internet, they will be allotted lab time in school to view the videos.  However, they will be required to sign up for time in the school lab.  Upon all students reviewing the introduction videos, the next step is to have the class discuss their observations, present questions and misunderstandings in a whole class setting.

Once all students have had an opportunity to review the introduction videos, they will be required to continue on with the process of  of this webquest; following all the steps, as well as, all lessons that require practice.  This webquest is setup so that students may review the learning as often as they need.

The end result of this Unit lesson will hopefully allow students to revisit information that they may have forgotten, or may not have truly learned, as we begin to learn the steps of the writing process and practice writing, conciously using the writing process.
