Burrowing Owl Food Chain

Focus:
This WebQuest basically focuses on the Burrowing Owl and what a food web is.

Objectives/Goals:
I would recommend doing this activity in an ecology unit or as part of a novel study of the book 'Hoot' by Carl Hiassen. This way, the students will have some background knowledge and they should be able to take this project further than without any previous knowledge. They will also have a better vocabulary when writing their report and for the brochure. 

Students will learn...

• What does Burrowing Owls look like and waht is their role in an ecosystem.
  
• What so food webs look like.
• What could one food web of a burrowing Owl look like.
  

Follow up:
Make each of the students a member of the food web and have them hold on to yarn to represent the arrows
