Food Chains

Focus: This WebQuest basically focuses on Food Chains including information about key vocabulary used when discussing food chains. The objective of this webquest is to help students learn about food chains, work in a group, and learn how to find information off the Internet using safe sites.

Objectives/Goals/Oregon Benchmarks: SC.05.LS.05.01 Use drawings or models to represent a series of food chains for specific habitats.

Goal: The learner will be able to apply knowledge of food chains for specific habitats by making a model of one. 

SC.05.LS.05.02 Identify the producers, consumers, and decomposers in a given habitat.

Goal: The learner will be able to identify the producers, consumers, and decomposers in a given habitat by researching and knowing what producers, consumers, and decomposers are.

EL.04.RE.09 Understand, learn, and use new vocabulary that is introduced and taught directly through informational text, literary text, and instruction across the subject areas.

Goal: The learner will be able to understand and use new vocabulary that is introduced and taught through informational text, literary text, and instruction geared towards science.  

EL.04.WR.28 Use multiple reference materials (e.g., dictionary, encyclopedia, online information) as aids to writing.
