Step #4 - Example of an Excellent Site

Names: ______________________________________________________________
Name and URL of Site: __________________________________________________

In your groups, work together to find an excellent example of a website, based on your research. Choose any site you like, just make sure it is an EXCELLENT example. Be sure to bookmark the site; you will be hyperlinking to it from your group’s PowerPoint. Make some notes together about why this is a good website based on your master list.

This webquest is designed to help students learn the basics of evaluating resources on the Internet so that they can become better critical thinkers, become more adept at research and technology integration, and hone their classroom social interaction skills. By presenting the information in a PowerPoint format, students develop their functional design and presentation skills.

*Be aware that the websites from step 3 are all fake, and the students will most likely figure it out on their own. They usually have fun doing this. If they just don't get it, feel free to tell them, because they will need to choose one of the sites as a group to use in their presentation and demonstrate why it is fake based on their evaluation criteria. This also makes for a fun whole class discussion.
