I created a larger lesson plan which included a classroom 'election' in which the students would spend one week working through the stages of an election cycle (I have included an attachment below which outlines the lesson). The purpose of the Webquest was to get them involved in the research behind their 'key questions' - which would inform their 'party's' platform or the 'Election Committee's  plan, through utilizing internet sources, and then present the information in a PowerPoint. So essentially, the Webquest was just a small, but crucial, part of informing the bigger project that they were working on, as they could not continue with the election without the information and research they have gathered through the Quest.

Standards

I created this Webquest as part of an assignment for a graduate-level education course. The Quest is based on the Maryland State High School Government Curriculum (Unit 7 - Participation in Government). For more information: http://mdk12.org/instruction/hsvsc/government/standard1.html
