Hello researchers and fellow teachers,
That's me (Rhonda Pinckard - on the right in red), with my terrific teaching partner, Jeannie Hinyard.
Between us is David Nighteagle, a wonderful Native American flutist, who has graciously given performances for our 3rd Graders during our own  'seasonal migration' to Mesa Verde.
I hope you will find this Webquest useful. Feel free to adapt any part to your needs. You may wish to download and print the Passport linked below.  I designed this WebQuest with self-directed learners, and GT students in mind.
The WebQuest, if all Tasks and a Presentation are done, will take at least  8 - 10 days (40 minutes per day), or may take
longer according to the depths students go with their research.

Standards

[Colorado Core Standards:] S.S. History 1.1c Compare information from multiple sources recounting the same event.
S.S. History 1.2c Give examples of people and events, and developments that brought important changes to a community or region
History S.S.1.2d Describe the history, interaction, and contribution of the various peoples and cultures that have lived in or migrated to a community or region.]

Credits

Thank you MANY times to:
* Jeannie Hinyard at Hotchkiss K-8 for generously allowing use of the PowerPoints, as well as document contributions, collaboration, and moral support!

* Karen Prior for the Passport at www.FIARCircle.com

Other

A reminder about internet safety. School computers will have safety 'blocks.' But if a student wishes to work on a web search at home, be sure to talk with parents so they may monitor their child's computer activity.

Passport for Student
This passport may be printed out, then 'stamped' as students complete each of their 3 Tasks + their presentation.
