Standards

This WebQuest addresses the following National Music Standards:

6. Listening to, analyzing, and describing music.
7. Evaluating music and music performances.
8. Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.
9. Understanding music in relation to history and culture.

The following Pennsylvania State Academic Standards for the Arts and Humanities:

9.2 - Identify, compare, contrast and analyze works in the arts in their historical and cultural context.
9.2.C. - Relate works in the arts to varying styles and genre and to the periods in which they were created.
9.2.H. - Identify, describe and analyze the work of Pennsylvania artists in music.
9.3.A. - Know and use the critical process of the examination of works in the arts and humanities - compare and contrast.
9.3.B. - Analyze and interpret specific characteristics of works in the arts.
9.3.C. - Identify and classify styles, forms, types and genre within art forms.

While working through this WebQuest students will use higher level thinking skills to analyze the music compositions and evaluate the composer information for inclusion in their Glog and create their Glog to be informative and attractive to their fellow classmates.
