An author study on Bruce Coville

Target Learners:

This particular author study on Bruce Coville is aimed at 4th grade students. At this level students are begining to learn how to use resources to locate information, such as the internet.

 

Time:

This author study will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. Extra time should be set aside if needed. Students will need enough time to complete the research process, write the biogprahpical sketches, read their chosen book independently, and write the book review. The extra time, if needed, should be devoted to the publication process.

 

NYS Standards:

    NYS ELA 1: Students will read, write, listen, and speak for information and understanding.

    NYS ELA 2: Students will read, write, listen, and speak for literacy response and expression.

    NYS ELA 4: Students will read, write, listen, and speak for social interaction. 

 

 

Note for Teachers: this project should be taught after students have learned about reserach techniques, different genres of literature and the writing process.
