This webquest was created using South Carolina ELA reading standards for third grade.
3-1.4 Distinguish
among devices of figurative language
(including simile, metaphor, personification, and hyperbole)
and sound devices (including onomatopoeia
and alliteration).
It will translate to fourth and fifth grades well too. I used activities that could be done in groups or individually based on student abilities and access to technology.
I also created a handbook to go along with the webquest in order for students to refer back to prior activities and to use as a study guide. Most activities were borrowed from teachers and the internet. Thank you to all of you who contributed and collaborated to the effort. Please see resources for the handbook and pages inside. |
