This is a beginning research project for students who have not had experience with the formal research process. In my school, sixth grade is the introductory year for formal reserch paper writing and seventh grade continues the process by giving students more responsibility for their learning. For example, in seventh grade the students come up with their own research questions and are responsibile for 15 - 20 questions. In addition, their paper must be at least 6 typed pages.
