  *I was very intrigued by the WASP story after hearing an actual interview on CNN in late 2007 or early 2009.  I have found many avenues throughout college so far to share their story (speeches, different types of lesson plans).  I was amazed that I had never heard of this part of our country's rich history.

Tennesee Cirriculum Standard 3.5.o1 Identify major events, people, and patterns in Tennessee, United States, and World History.
                                                          a. I dentify the heroic deeds of characters from state, national, and global histories.
                                                         3.5.spi.3 read and interpret facts from a historical passage
                                   at level 2:    3.5.tpi.7 assemble historical information using a variety of sources (e.g., book, video, and computer).
**The best advice I can give before doing this lesson is to soak up everything you can from the  Wings Across America website.  The more research I read about these courageous women...the more I want to read!
