Task

Your task is to join a five-person team, in which together you will examine the 1960s and the many important events that took place during the decade.  Each team member will choose a category to study in further depth.  Topics range from The Presidents, The Economy, and Social Change, to Famous People and Arts and Pop Culture. (Each of the categories is explained in more detail in the "Roles of Students" tab to the left) You will become an expert for your group by researching ten events that you believe are the most significant, from your category, during the 1960s and putting them into a PowerPoint presentation with pictures and an explanation of the event's importance.  As a group, you will then create a 10-15 minute video where you will act out some of the events that you have chosen from each of your different sections.  All categories should be represented equally in the video, but how you choose to do that will be determined by you and your group.  You will then upload this video onto YouTube.com and present it to the rest of the class.

After we watch all of the videos, you will be participating in a debate forum where you will have to argue, and hopefully prove to the rest of the class, why the events that you chose for your topic were more important than some of the events that your other classmates might have chosen in their videos.  Your final grade will be based on the list of ten events that you chose from your topic, including a brief explanation of why you believe they are the most important, your group's video, the final debate, and a peer / self evaluation.
