There are four layers of the rainforest. Before beggining the lesson we will make a KWL chart on the board and write down things as a class for each section: What do they Know, Want to know and finally what have they Learned.
After the topic is introduced the students will learn the song "Layer os the rainforest" to help them memorize each layer.

(as you sing the names of the layers first crouch down, then stand up and bend over a bit, then stand and put your arms over your head like an umbrella, then stand on toes and reach up high)
