Creating Short Stories

***While following these steps, please keep in mind that this story should be no less than 500 words.***

Consider your main idea/plot of the story. What will your short be about? What story are you telling your audience?

Pick the tone of your story. What is the emotion of your story? (love, redemption, justice, freedom, hero/heroine, thriller, etc.)

Create characters. Who is your story about? Try to keep it to a minimum and focus on the main character and that character's development. 

Create a title. Your title is what captures the audiences' attention. Focus on the uniqueness of the story. The overall theme is a few words. 

Suggest back story. It is not necessary to elaborate on the full history of the character or the story in which you are trying to tell. 

Conclusion. Tie it all up. Do you want to keep your audience wanting more? What will be a peaceful ending?
