We Want Vicenza Elementary School to Be Bully Free

Task

20100626024507deVyp.jpg

You will become a "task force" to write a proposal to administration to make VES a Bully Free School.  Each 6th grade class will be divided alphabetically into four groups of 5 members each.  Each group will receive a pocket folder with your assignments, sample graphic organizer, and note cards.  Class A will research numbers 1-4, Class B will research numbers 5-8, and Class C will visit all web sites provided, be the audience to critique Class A and Class B presentations, and vote on the first draft of the final proposal.  Group C, while it looks like you will have more work than the other groups, let me assure you most of the work will already be done for you to finish your task easily.  All groups will use the links provided as well as other resources (library, personal interviews, observations, etc.) to become experts on your roles.  You will have 10 school days to complete this project, with day one being this coming Monday.  Each team will come together to write your part of the plan to stop Bully/Teasing at VES no later than the 10 days alloted.  Let's take a stand to stop the Bullying at VES.  By using the Webquest you should achieve the following:

       7.  Critique all groups' work and write draft proposal.

Tips to guide your critique:

Was the topic stated clearly?

Did the presenter define the problem?

Was the presenter familiar with the material?

Was there enough information to leave you with a clear sense of the problem?

How would you rate the proposal on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the highest score?

      8.  Present draft plan to group 6C, rewrite draft, and make final presentation to administration.

      9.  6C -  listen, evaluate, and vote on all groups' presentations.

Roles:

Researchers - All members research.

Note Taker - Not only will you take your notes, but those of the end product.  Be sure to use some kind of note taking technique you have learned in class such as graphic organizers that you used in your writing process this year, or note cards with one idea on each.  Microsft word is also an excellent place to keep notes.

Task Master - This member will keep the group on task to keep the project moving on time.  Also, make sure everyone is doing a fair share of the work.

Presenter - Each group will assign a presenter.  This group member will present to group 6C and be a member of the team to present the final proposal to administration.
