Dewey the Cat's Library Adventure
Task
You will need to complete the following tasks (as a team) to teach Dewey the Cat about the Dewey Decimal System. He must re-shelve the books before the Library-Media Specialist returns in the morning. Hurry, time is ticking!
Task #1:
Your first task is to work with your fellow library aides (classmates) to create a map of the library for Dewey to refer to. You will be divided into 5 teams: follow the web links, research to find the information, and help create the map. Individually, you will find books in your assigned sections and add them to the map.
Task #2:
For your second task, your team will be responsible for creating PowerPoint slides (on a topic that you are assigned) from web links that will be provided to you. This PowerPoint will help explain to Dewey items such as: 'What is a call number?' and 'What is the difference between fiction and non-fiction?'.
Task: #3:
Your final task will be a team presentation of your assigned area of the library (on the map) and your section of the PowerPoint.
