Tasks
This project will be a crucial part of learning how to interact with the Deaf community. Knowing the language is not enough to be a well-rounded individual in the community. Just like any other community, it is important to give respect. You are stepping into their territory, you must know what is appropriate to both say and do when engaging with a Deaf person.
You will be creating two posters to present to the class on Deaf Etiquette. This is important because in order to go on the Deaf event field trip, you must receive a 40 or above. As a member of, _____________ high school, you represent us as a whole. Therefore, it must be known that you know what is acceptable. By completing this assignment, it proves that you are competent in how to interact with the Deaf community and know the unspoken rules of the community and language.
