Food nutrients



At the end of the class students should be aware of the importance of nutrients to the body.Nutrients are chemical substances found in foods which help to keep the body healthy. There are six types of nutrients that fall into two broad categories: macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients. Macro-nutrients, which are required in large amount and micro-nutrients are required in small amount.

You will:

1. Define the term nutrients.
2. Classify nutrients.
3. List at least four (4) food sources of each nutrient.
4. Explain at least one (1) function of each nutrient.

      You will be place in 6 groups, each group will be assign a nutrient. In your group you will create a 10 x 12 flyer stating what is the assign nutrients and 1 function of each.
