Speaking Skills for IELTS
Tasks
The speaking test is an interview with an examiner that lasts between 11 and 14 minutes. The interview has three separate parts and is divided up as follows.
| Part | Timing | What will need to talk about |
| 1 (Introduction and Interview) | 4-5minutes | In this section, the examiner will introduce him/ herself and ask you questions about familiar topics (general questions about your life). |
| 2 ( Individual Long Turn) | 3-4minutes | In this section, The examiner will give you a booklet showing a topic and some suggestions on it. you need to talk about the topic for 1-2 minutes. You have about one minute to write notes before you begin. The examiner may ask you some follow-up questions. |
| 3 (Two-way discussion) | 4-5minutes | In this section, the examiner will ask you more detailed and more abstract questions linked to the topic in part 2. |
